American Nonprofits, a California-based certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), is piloting a free financial management and real estate technical assistance program for small nonprofits rooted in low-income and under-resourced communities.

Organizations with budgets under $2 million can apply for up to 20 hours of one-on-one advising in financial management and/or real estate strategy.

Services available through the program include:

  • Budgeting & financial forecasting. Building realistic budgets and cash flow projections
  • Financial analysis & nonprofit accounting. Strengthening internal financial systems and reporting
  • Real estate readiness & feasibility. Assessing whether buying or leasing space makes sense for your organization
  • Real estate strategic advisory. Guidance on deploying resources toward sustainable, community-owned real estate solutions
  • Capital & lending navigation. Help understanding financing options, including CDFI and grant-based capital sources
