Meet Emmanuel:

I am an insurance professional, with nearly 20 years of experience — ranging from Claims to Underwriting.

Where are you from, and where do you live now?

I am originally from Southern California — the Los Angeles area. Now, I’m settled in California’s Central Coast.

Do you have any hobbies, interests or passions that you’d like to talk about?

I am a classically trained pianist, but haven’t played in years. I can also play guitar and bass.

I also enjoy spending time with my family and traveling — recently, I traveled to London and enjoyed taking in a soccer game there.

Emmanuel Meets NIA:

How long have you worked at NIA?

I have worked at NIA going on 10 years.

What did you do before that?

Before coming to work at NIA, I was the office manager for a small nonprofit organization.

How did you come to find NIA?

I was looking to get back into insurance and found at NIA an opportunity use my insurance experience with my nonprofit experience.

How did your job interview go?

I had several interviews with HR, Senior Management, Insurance Operations Management, and the Hiring Committee.

All my interviews went well and everyone was really friendly and made me feel at ease.

Emmanuel's NIA Career:

Tell us about the growth of your career at NIA.

My career growth at NIA can be attributed to the training, support, and encouragement of my peers, my mentor, and my managers.

Do you like working remotely? How often do you go into the office?

I do enjoy working remotely. I only go into the office if there is a special occasion or if my power/internet is out at home.

Do you feel you have a good work/life balance?

I’ve been able to develop a plan at NIA which helps me maintain my work/life balance at home.
