To thank participants, three nonprofits that provided feedback were randomly selected by NIA to each receive a $250 donation to support their missions. Three participating brokers were also randomly selected — and were each given the opportunity to select a deserving nonprofit to also receive a $250 donation from NIA.
We wanted to take this opportunity to put a spotlight on each of these organizations and their missions.
Love of Animals, Inc. (Visalia, Calif.) — Love of Animals is an animal-welfare organization dedicated to ending the killing of all companion animals. Their all-volunteer staff focuses on providing rescue, rehabilitation, spay/neuter, fostering, and placement for animals in need in Tulare County.
Magic ToothBus (San Francisco, Calif.) — Magic ToothBus provides mobile dentistry, oral health care curriculum, and preventative services, as well as helping families sign up for dental care in low-income and marginalized communities within the San Francisco Bay Area region.
Virginia Interfaith Power & Light (Richmond, Va.) — The Virginia branch of Interfaith Power & Light is dedicated to bringing together people of faith and conscience to grow healthy communities and mobilize a religious response to climate change through energy conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy.
Circle of Friends School (Eugene, Ore.) — Circle of Friends School is a female-founded nonprofit school, dedicated to serving youth with complex needs and those who love them. Their goal is to create a community that is founded on inclusion, opportunities, and the belief that very person has value.
Arts & Scraps (Detroit, Mich.) — Arts & Scraps uses recycled materials to help people of all ages and abilities think, learn, and create. They achieve this through programs that foster social and emotional growth, creativity, and fine motor skills through hands-on learning.
Sustainable Cotton Project (Winters, Calif.) — Sustainable Cotton Project is a private nonprofit organization who works with conventional farmers to help them implement biologically based agricultural-management practices. SCP’s program enables growers to reduce their dependence on toxic chemicals and utilize reduced risk practices — leading to cleaner air and water.
