California and certain cities are adopting new family-friendly legislation to support and protect pregnant mothers and the parents of new children.
In this webinar, we will provide a detailed overview of the California Pregnancy Disability Leave statute and regulations; the California Family and Medical Leave Act (CFRA); and the new Parent Leave law effective in 2018, which provide job- protected leave for baby and new child bonding.
This webinar includes a discussion of an employer’s duty to reasonably accommodate pregnant workers’ physical work limitations.
We will also discuss the statutory framework for wage replacement benefits under the EDD’s Short Term Disability and Paid Family Leave programs as well as new city-specific laws that require employers to supplement those payments.
We will provide sample forms and letters to assist your nonprofit to communicate with employees regarding their leave rights, checklists to help track leave, and other helpful leave processing form.
